The OBD CarLock device is compatible with any car manufactured after 1996. It can easily be plugged into the OBD II port.
Do you have a car which is manufactured before 1996 or your vehicle does not have an OBD II port? There are two options:
- Install OBD CarLock on your vehicle with the CarLock Power adapter cable:
- Purchase Basic CarLock device (only available in EU and UK; cannot be yet purchased or used in the US): can be purchased on Amazon. Please see our CarLock Amazon stores available for shipping in your country.
Are you not able to close the cover of your OBD II port when having an OBD CarLock device?
You're welcome to choose from three different CarLock cables to place your OBD CarLock device somewhere else:
1. CarLock Power adapter cable (wire the OBD device to your vehicle’s battery):
2. CarLock Extension cable (to place the OBD device somewhere else):
3. CarLock splitter cable (to place your OBD device somewhere else and to hide your OBD device to make your port look like it is empty):
A splitter cable can also be used to make your OBD port look empty, which means that you can install it in the car like in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aRRigsmpglM&list=PL-c8TCKO02RvYlXACwxHTpWUlu472P84w&index=3
Please be careful - one part is only for charging the device and the other one provides data as well. The CarLock device has to be on the part where only power is provided so the other one can be used by mechanics.
